Most IT organisations struggle to get meaningful reporting
from the HCD. Looking for simple things like changes and/or
solving problems require tedious reviews of long reports.
Information gleaned from these reports is difficult to share
and is typically created manually.
Discover a new tool that demystifies changes to the Input
Output Definition File (IODF). The IODF Explorer will find
and document the content of the IODF for a named z/OS System
using a collection of highly formatted Configuration
Reports. It “Blueprints” the IODF configuration elements -
OSCP, SWCP and IOCP - with sufficient detail to allow the
pinpointing and reporting of changes in Configuration Change
Reports. These reports are easy to read and produce, can be
emailed, printed or exported in a comma-delimited file. More
importantly for those dealing with hardware changes, these
reports can also span multiple generations of IODFs,
including look-alike IODFs such as Home Site and Hot Site
IODFs.
Webcast attendees will also learn about IODF configuration
weaknesses such as:
- Incomplete pathing
- Required configuration values
- Inconsistent definitions between the IOCP and the OSCP
- Under-utilizing the benefits of service elements such
as the Eligible Device Table
Attendees will also be given the opportunity to receive the
results of a complimentary IODF Extraction Report of “their”
IODF.
The webcasts will be held each afternoon from Mon. 30th
June – Wed. 2nd July at 2pm and 4pm and again
the following week from Wed. 9th July to Fri.
11th July, same times. Please email us where
possible by 20th June if you’d like to take part letting me
know which date and time suits you (and your colleagues).
