Ross Macallister & Mohammed Sheikh, ATOS-KPMG (9.45 a.m. -10.45 p.m.)

"Challenges in Mergers & Demergers"

Ross & Mohammed are Principal Consultants in Atos KPMG Consulting's M&AI Practice. Ross specializes in leading and working with multi-discipline and international teams handling complex merger integration and business performance improvement issues. He has extensive experience in both pre-closure and post completion stages and recently advised a world leading consumer products company on the European integration of an international business in a deal worth $10.3 billion. Mohammed holds a BA degree in Business Computing and an MBA, and now specializes in the delivery of cross border post merger integration projects and demergers. He has extensive experience in both the pre-closure and post completion stages and recently delivered one of the largest demergers to date for a leading cable and telephony company.

Why do some mergers and acquisitions fail to deliver stakeholder value? A recent KPMG survey revealed acquirers remain over optimistic about their performance - "82% believed their deal had been a success yet analysis showed 83% failed to deliver shareholder value". They will explain why some mergers and acquisitions fail to deliver stakeholder value and what steps should be taken to ensure successful integration.

Fiona Dunne, Fitz Software & Co. (11.00 a.m. -11.50 a.m.)

"If Asset Management fails whose butt is on the line?"

Fiona joined Fitz Software beginning of 2000, having previously worked in the IT Service Delivery Section and Product Development Section of a large banking institution. There she worked with both IT personnel and demanding end-users. This gave her a valued insight into determining and understanding client requirements and jointly working on individual solutions.

Fitz Software has been in a unique position in working with some of the largest corporations across Europe in refining methodologies and learning adopted by a variety of those clients. Fiona will discuss the role of various departments within the organisation where such key responsibilities and functions play an important part in a successful IT Asset Management Initiative. Projects that initially seem unrelated often make the largest ITAM demands when it's recognised the huge savings that can be achieved when asset management is in place. So let's see where ITAM starts, ends and the success of lone and collective responsibility.

Mark Peter, Computacenter (11.50 a.m. -12.45 p.m.)

"Practical experiences and advantages of IT Asset Management"

Mark is Manager of Computacenter's International Support Centre (ISC) based in Liverpool and has worked in Computacenter's International Business since 1999. From the ISC, Computacenter manage support and asset management for global customers and Mark has extensive experience of the challenges faced in providing services to widely distributed user bases.

Here he will cover some real life experiences of installing and administering Asset Management for some medium sized user communities across international locations. Mark will review the overall processes involved and highlight the numerous advantages and savings coming out of the asset management systems for their customers, even at a local level where it may be perceived as a small enterprise.

He is a founding member of Enovation Solutions, which has ongoing projects in Ireland and mainland Europe, where he is now director responsible for marketing their solutions and services.
