"Companies Lose Millions Without Asset Management Practices"

Corporate Breakfast Meeting, by invitation only, on Thursday, 2nd May 2002.

Venue is "The Balmoral Hotel", Edinburgh

Linda McGrath, Fitz Software Services (8.45 a.m. - 9.30 a.m.)

"Cost Savings Realisation by Managing Your Assets"

Linda joined Fitz Software in 1998 and is currently a Senior Account Manager. Previously she worked for eight years with a major national wholesale company in sales and procurement. With Fitz Software she specialises in their range of IT Asset Management solutions, dealing with U.K. & Irish companies who have been implementing Asset Management practices.

Many organisations including Gartner and the Meta group say that savings can be made by managing IT assets effectively. KPMG's 2001 survey on this area suggests that UK Plc are losing £17 billion a year in potential cost savings. Linda will explain in his session what the value proposition is for this area, together with examples of why people are struggling to take effective action to achieve savings. She will present a case for building an IT Asset Manager into your organisation, defining the key responsibilities and function of the Asset Manager and discuss the key elements of a successful Asset Management program.

David Thomas, Tangram Enterprise Solutions (9.30 a.m. - 10.15 a.m.)

"Reducing the Cost and Extending the Value of Your Asset Base"

David Thomas, senior manager with Tangram, an internationally recognised asset management solutions provider, has worked in the information technology field since the early-1980s. He has extensive hands-on experience with various computer environments, including IBM mainframes, UNIX Open Systems, local area networks, and Windows workstations.

Given increased economic and competitive factors, companies are under heightened pressure to control IT costs and maximise productivity through improved management of their existing asset base. Join David as he illustrates proven methodologies for reducing the cost of asset ownership, expanding IT and employee productivity, and extending the value of your IT infrastructure. Citing specific customer scenarios, David reveals how industry-leading companies are leveraging asset management solutions to plan major software upgrades (e.g. Win2000), control enterprise changes, improve software license management, enhance service desk performance, and more.
